Roller chain is a common mechanical transmission component, whose structure and function can be briefly summarized as follows:

Basic structure: It consists of 5 parts: inner chain plates, outer chain plates, pins, bushings and rollers. These parts work together to form a chain that can flex freely.

Core parameters:

Pitch (the distance between the centers of adjacent pins) is crucial, which determines the power transmission capacity.
It can be divided into single-row and multi-row chains (such as double-row chains). The more rows there are, the stronger the load-bearing capacity.
The length is expressed by the number of chain links, and even-numbered links are usually chosen.

Working principle: It transmits power from the driving sprocket to the driven sprocket through the engagement between the rollers and the sprocket tooth grooves. The rolling of the rollers can reduce wear.

Main characteristics: It has an accurate transmission ratio (no elastic sliding) and high efficiency. It is suitable for medium and low-speed, long-distance power transmission, such as in motorcycles, conveyors and other equipment.
