Chain Types
WH: All components through-hardened for general heavy-duty conveying.
WHX: Through-hardened + induction-hardened pins for extreme wear.
WR: Through-hardened rivets only, cost-effective for light-to-medium loads.
Offset Sidebar: For tight turns; Straight Sidebar: For high-tension lines.
Common Attachments
C1/C3/C4: Full-length carrier plates for bulk material retention.
W1/W2: Welded scrapers/swing plates for drag applications.
A1/A2: Extended pins for flight mounting; K1/K2: Offset lugs for side loading.
RR: Reverse barrels for bidirectional travel.
Strength & Durability: Heat-treated alloy steel, welded construction, high impact resistance; rated for continuous heavy loads and abrasive environments.
Attachment Versatility: Custom welded attachments (scrapers, flights, paddles) for precise material handling; field-repairable with standard tools.
Standard Compliance: ANSI B29.18M/ISO 6971 ensures interchangeability; hard-face welding on sliding surfaces minimizes wear.
Temperature & Corrosion: Operating temp -20°C to +120°C; standard finish is oiled/black oxide; upgrade to zinc-plated or hot-dip galvanized for mild corrosion resistance.
Primary: Logging, sawmills, pulp/paper, grain handling, mining aggregate, waste management.
Secondary: Chip/sawdust conveyors, drag lines, bucket elevators, heavy-duty assembly lines.
Limitations: Not for high-speed power transmission; avoid strong acids/alkalies (use stainless steel variants if needed).
Load & Speed: Calculate static/dynamic loads, ensure safety factor ≥4; max speed ≤0.5 m/s for drag chains.
Attachment Match: Choose C-type for bulk, W-type for scrap, A-type for flights; confirm pitch/sprocket compatibility.
Sprocket & Tension: Use ANSI B29.18M sprockets (min 17 teeth); maintain 1–2% chain length tension for smooth operation.
Maintenance: Lubricate pins/bushings biweekly; inspect welds and attachments monthly for cracks/wear.
